The Reason Behind The Cardinals

Last night, my husband and I had a very deep conversation that brought me to major tears.   As we call it…a “Come to Jesus” Meeting.  It all stemmed from me snapping at him for no particular reason to the point where he finally got enough.  Now, remember, Michael is a mental health counselor by day, and as hard as he tries to leave those skills at work, those counseling skills always seem to linger through.  He made me sit down with him and figure out why I had been in this “mood”.

Have you ever had that feeling inside where you knew that something was bothering you, but you didn’t know what it was?  I encourage you to find you that person to have those “Come to Jesus” meetings with.  Sit down together, go for a walk in the woods or on the beach together, or find anywhere away from the hustle and bustle…and discuss those things that you don’t normally talk about every day.  It really does rejuvenate your mind and soul.

So our “Come to Jesus” meeting last night enlightened us both:  Although November and December are special times of the year and I love the holiday season, it’s also the most difficult time for me personally.  It revolves around my parents.  My mom and dad’s birthdays are in November.  They would have both been 77. In addition, my dad passed away 22 years ago and my mom passed away just last year, almost on the same December day.

So, in no way was I aware of my change in personality until Michael brought it to my attention during our “Come to Jesus” meeting.

In his words, “No wonder you are painting so many cardinals lately”.  Little did I know, my inspirations do come from within.

A cardinal is a representative of a loved one who has passed. When you see one, it means they are visiting you. They usually show up when you most need them or miss them. They also make an appearance during times of celebration as well as despair to let you know they will always be with you.
Well, I haven’t seen a cardinal yet in our yard, but I’ll be sure to let you know when I do.
Sending love and peace your way,
Gin
